Our sliding sash windows deliver the perfect way to retain your home’s traditional character with all the advantages of 21st-century technology. Comfortably replacing a wide range of vertical sliders with ease, our expertise stretches to splay, box bay, arched and swept head sliding sash windows.
Delivering all the original features, including astragal bars, sash horns, and traditional style hardware, sash horns were originally used to support the glazed panels. Our sash horns, although decorative, faithfully replicate the traditional period aesthetic. Georgian bars were also used to separate the glazed sections. Our external Georgian bars are attached to the exterior of the windowpane to create a realistic interpretation. Alongside the period detail, they are glazed with argon gas filled ‘A’ rated sealed units for the ultimate thermal efficiency.
Home security is one of the most important considerations when replacing your windows or moving to a new property. At Global Windows, our sliding sash windows feature high-performance, key-operated sash locks to keep your home safe at all times. A security bar is fitted along the bottom transom to stop potential intruders using tools to force entry and travel restrictors further enhance the window’s security by restricting the opening to 100mm.
Our vertical sliding sash windows are ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency and can be enhanced further with 'A+' energy ratings if required. They are designed to help your home retain as much heat as possible and limit its escape. By upgrading your existing windows you’ll create a warmer home, save money on reduced heating bills, and do your bit to protect the environment by reducing your carbon footprint.
Replicate the look of timber box sash windows with your choice of finish, whilst tastefully reproducing the original look with white or cream. Or for a more natural finish, we have a range of realistic woodgrain effect coatings which are durable, attractive, and easy to maintain.
Alongside your choice of frame colour and style, the type of glass you choose can make a huge difference to the overall look of your sash windows. Clear glass is the most popular choice, but if you want something a bit different, at Global Windows we have a range of glazing options. Choose from our selection of obscure glass for extra privacy or, if safety is your main concern, opt for toughened safety glass.
