How big can a conservatory be without planning permission?
You might be wondering whether or not you'll need planning permission for a conservatory installation, and thankfully, most of the time you won't. Planning permission isn't required, as long as:
Your conservatory covers less than half the land around the original house
Your conservatory does not extend from the front of your home
Your conservatory is not higher than the highest part of your roof
Your conservatory does not extend from your property by more than 3m (attached house) 4m (detached house)
Your conservatory is not higher than 4m
Do you need permission for a conservatory?
You may be able to build a conservatory without planning permission if it meets certain criteria, such as being smaller than 30 square meters, not being taller than the highest part of your roof, and not being built on the front of your house. However, you may still need to obtain building regulations approval to ensure that the structure is safe and meets relevant standards.

Had Global swap an existing window for a new bi-fold door and install a completely new window in our dining room. As hoped, both have created a lot of addition light. I have used Global in the past and would use again in the future. Professional service provided from the office staff. They were the only business I spoke to that was aware of the new building control regulations that were introduced at the start of October last year and therefore acted as Principal Designer keeping the works compliant. The guys that completed the work were very respectful, polite and tidied up after themselves. Would recommend.
