An East Rotherham couple is set to receive a brand new front door this Christmas, after being selected as winners in our Global Christmas Giveaway.
The Global Christmas Giveaway set out to gift the door, worth £1,200 and equipped with a Kubu Smart Lock, to a deserving family in a bid to make their Christmas a little brighter.
Glyn Myers, 62, and his wife Jane, 63, were nominated by their daughter Louise, 33, who felt her parents deserved the prize door after a, particularly tough year.
“My dad worked as a recovery driver in Sheffield for over 33 years, but sadly lost his job last year due to Covid,” Louise explained.
“My mum’s also suffered from various health problems over the past 10 years, including breast cancer, and last year had to retire from her job of 26 years due to medical reasons.
“My mum and dad’s front door is really old and has seen better days, and I knew that while a new door wouldn’t solve all their problems, it would really brighten up their Christmas, especially when money is tight.
“It’s been an incredibly difficult few months for our family, so to be selected as a winner in the Global Christmas Giveaway has been a great way to end the year.
“I gave my parents the news in a Christmas card, and they were so excited.
“The team at Global Windows has already invited us to their showroom in Handsworth to choose the door we like.
“We’re extremely grateful to the team at Global Windows for their generosity, and we can’t wait to see the new door fitted.”
