Let’s face it, conservatories really are the perfect locations to sit and soak up the sun. However, not if they’re old, too hot or too cold. So, when a South Anston customer got in touch with us to turn an old, outdated conservatory into a contemporary, comfortable space, we set out immediately to help.
Swapping out the polycarbonate for a grey on white glass roof
Old polycarbonate conservatory roofs are simply not conducive to a comfortable living environment; they can’t retain heat and they’re loud when met with rain and wind. However, we swapped out the Potter’s polycarbonate roof, replacing it with a glass one.
Coloured grey on the outside and white on the in, we ensured its look was consistent with the other parts of their home and conservatory. Our glass roofs are thermally efficient and solar controlled, so their conservatory could now stay warmer during the colder months and reflect excessive heat from the sun during the summer, ensuring it won’t overheat either. As they’re self-cleaning too, they could enjoy year-round comfort with absolutely no hassle!

Sometimes, a roof replacement is all that’s needed to allow a customer to start enjoying their conservatory again. However, in certain cases – like this one – we need to replace the whole thing. So, we swapped out the old frames for new, multi-chambered uPVC frames which have the highest quality double glazing sitting between them.

The result was a warm and cosy living space that was now ‘A’ rated for energy-efficiency. So, the Potters can look forward to lower heating bills in addition to a cosy conservatory. Like the roof, the frames were coloured grey on the outside, giving their conservatory plenty of contemporary charm. However, the internal frames were coloured white, ensuring for a seamless match with the white patio doors leading from the Potter’s home to the conservatory.
