Most of us have been affected by cancer in some way over the course of our lives, whether it’s personal or through family, friends, acquaintances or even through the power of social media.
Macmillan Cancer Support raised a record amount of £247.7 million in 2017, thanks to the generosity of their donors and the tireless hard work of staff and volunteers. Providing invaluable cancer information and support services, including a free support line, they help cancer sufferers and their families from the moment individuals are diagnosed right through to treatment and beyond.
In homes, workplaces and schools across the country, an amazing 200,000 volunteers signed up to take part in Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ last year. So, we thought it time to support our Yorkshire community living with cancer, via Macmillan in Yorkshire.
Together we are Macmillan Yorkshire
Taking part in the nation’s biggest brew, our fundraising event took place on Friday, October 12, in the Global Windows office.
Dedicated and focused on anything we set out minds to, the Global Windows team got creative and baked an array of delicious cakes and biscuits to help raise funds.
The ‘best cake in show’ accolade couldn’t go to anyone else but Paula, who amazed us with her glorious globe shaped lemon sponge cake. Liam’s delicious red velvet cake came a close second, to his dismay!
Pulling together as a team, we managed to raise £150 which Global Windows has generously matched; making a grand total of £300 raised for Macmillan in Yorkshire. We had a great time, whilst raising much-needed funds for a great cause – and you can too!
