Global Windows is proud to be sponsoring the kit for 12 children from the Sheffield Dragons Academy as they prepare to compete in the prestigious Unified World Martial Arts Championships this October.
What is the Sheffield Dragons Academy?
Established 23 years ago in Handsworth, the Sheffield Dragons Academy has remained a beacon of excellence in martial arts education and training. Registered members of both the World Traditional Karate/Kickboxing Association (WTKA) and the British Kickboxing Council (BKC), the Academy has dedicated itself to nurturing talent and fostering the holistic growth of its students.
Offering dynamic and engaging classes tailored to children aged three years and above, the Sheffield Dragons’ commitment goes beyond training, as they also operate the ‘Active Education, Alternative Provision’ programme, accommodating students from diverse backgrounds, including those at risk of exclusion from school, those unable to attend school due to medical reasons, children with Special Education Needs (SEN), young people in the public care system, young offenders, and new arrivals such as refugees and asylum seekers.
The Academy’s elite team, comprising of 12 children aged 10 to 17, have qualified to represent Great Britain in the Unified World Championships, taking place in Carrara, Italy, from the 26th to the 29th of October.
Transformative power of martial arts
