As Sheffield and South Yorkshire’s favourite family-run double-glazing company, it’s always nice to hear from satisfied customers who require our expertise once again. This happened recently at a home in Ford, Sheffield, where earlier on in the year the Global Windows team updated this homes’ exterior by replacing all of the main buildings windows with serene Chartwell Green casements, coupled with matching patio doors and French doors.
This time they wanted us to transform their outdated swimming pool building’s old woodgrain windows and doors, and, of course, we were more than happy to oblige!
Before:
Smart and stylish anthracite grey dual colour windows and doors
A need for stylish, contrasting aesthetics alongside high-performance thermal efficiency was the driving force behind this home improvement project. So, after a quick trip to our conveniently located Handsworth showroom, Mr Rowland set his heart on a stylish combination of an anthracite grey composite door and a glazed entrance door, elegant French doors and versatile casement windows all completed in dark grey for the exterior and classic white for the interior.
After:
French doors and composite doors can completely change a space
Smoothly connecting this superb swimming pool extension with the outside space and stylishly complimenting the rest of the property, dual colour French doors and a glazed entrance door completed the look – providing plenty of light inside, strengthening the space further by reflecting the pool space within. Security aspects were also intensified, with all doors PAS 24 accredited, French and entrance doors fitted with Elite DGS locking systems and the charming composite door fitted with the enviable ultra-secure Ultion Brisant cylinder lock as standard.
The rise of coloured uPVC windows & doors across Sheffield and South Yorkshire
Coloured uPVC windows and doors have become increasingly popular in the area, and it’s not hard to understand why. More and more homeowners, like Mr Rowlands, wish to strike a contrast between different areas of their home – and coloured uPVC is the ideal way to achieve this.
Black and anthracite grey uPVC windows and doors
Homes searching for a sleek, striking and contemporary look are moving towards black or deep anthracite grey uPVC windows and doors.

Grey uPVC windows and doors
Grey uPVC windows are also becoming increasingly popular, for homes that want to add a subtler contemporary twist. Grey seems to be an interior trend that’s here to stay, due to its neutrality, grounding, sophisticated and versatile qualities.
Chartwell green uPVC windows and doors
Chartwell green is particularly popular with composite door design, whilst rising in popularity with uPVC window finishes. Offering an air of tranquillity and subtle luxurious undertones, soothing Chartwell Green is a British heritage colour that enhances both traditional and modern homes with ease.
