At Global Windows, we like to offer our customers the best in innovative double glazing products. To stay up to date with industry trends, we decided to replace a uPVC conservatory at our factory showroom with a modern brick/glass extension with tiled roof. Our Sheffield showroom is the perfect showcase for our product range, giving customers the opportunity to view our products in-situ. Conveniently located just outside Sheffield city centre and close to the M1 motorway; we’re easily accessible to anyone living in the local area.
The new showroom installation is also a great way to demonstrate our installation expertise. Have a closer look at our step by step home extension renovation capability.
The existing uPVC conservatory
At our showroom, we have three conservatories installed onto the exterior of our factory. We made the decision to disassemble the white uPVC one and replace it with an example of an extension which incorporates more brickwork and a solid roof. There were two main reasons for doing this. 1. To promote an extension type which is currently popular. 2. To highlight our diversity as the other two conservatories are similar in structure (dwarf wall with glazed walls and glazed roof), but different styles.
Removal and site preparation
The original conservatory was removed with minimal disruption to the site and no impact on the building. The foundation area was then cleared of any debris, to be ready for the new installation.
The supporting structure is built
The existing base is slightly extended and squared off to accommodate the new structure. The internal breeze blocks are laid followed by the external brick layer.
The roof structure is installed
The side windows and roof structure are installed onto the supporting walls. The Ultraroof 380 from Ultra frame combines the thermal efficiency of a tiled roof with the light projection of a glass roof. A space is left in the tiled roof to install the velux windows.
The roof is tiled
The roof is tiled, and the exterior tidied up with some decorative gravel added on the side. The slate effect roof tiles are manufactured off-site and installed in sections for a quick and hassle-free installation.
The installation is complete
The extension is completed with the installation of some stylish uPVC sliding patio doors. The interior is tastefully decorated with internal pelmets and chrome spotlights to give our customers a real feel for the quality of our products and installation skills.
