Global Windows understands that your home is the most important investment that you will make in your life. That is why we recognise that your security and improved quality of life are the top priorities when it comes to improving your home with replacement windows, doors and conservatories.

More effective double glazing

Double glazing units with Planitherm Glass offer a complete solution. We fit Planitherm as standard on all of the products we manufacture, supply and install. Planitherm provides superior insulation, making the inner pane of the window much warmer, eliminating cold spots. This ensures that unheated conservatories are kept comfortable all year round, allowing you to enjoy your extra space just as you intended.

Low emissivity coating-how does it work?

The glass in your windows absorbs heat and then radiates it on the colder outer surface.

Planitherm is a new generation of energy saving window glass and the most energy efficient available. Its advanced coating technology reflects radiated heat back into the room, rather than allowing it to escape through the window, whilst also allowing free heat and light from the sun to pass through the glass

Low emissivity basically means that it is a poor radiator. So instead of radiating the heat to the colder outer surface, the heat is reflected back into the room by the coating. It works in a similar way to a sheet of reflecting foil behind a central heating radiator, bouncing the heat back into the room and saving energy.

The result is a lighter, brighter, warmer and more energy efficient home thanks to the advanced thermal insulation of Planitherm.

Thermally efficient-Complying to Part L of Building Regulations

Recent changes to the Government Building Regulations aim to improve the thermal efficiency of all buildings and set out mandatory requirements for any replacement windows and windows in new structures.

With Planitherm incorporated into a suitable insulating unit, you can be sure your windows easily meet these standards.

Every genuine piece of Planitherm carries the "OK" sticker - but its presence can also be confirmed by the use of a coating detector which unit manufactures or installers should have available.

Changes to building regulations now mean that any new or replacement windows should incorporate a low emissivity glass such as Planitherm.
